sorry, new years resolution

Ok. I'm a liar and a cheat. I haven't blogged for months. Since I last posted, we have moved into a house and celebrated Jane's first birthday. No biggie, right? Also I'm on a new computer (a chromebook!) so I have zero pictures. I just wanted to write a little to get myself started.

We spend a lot of time weeding, mulching, mowing, and debating about plans for the yard. Oh and going to Home Depot. It's a ton of fun and pretty tiring. We need to plant trees to get some shade. Our lawn has greatly improved but is still pretty shizzy. After trying to murder a gopher for like a month, we finally just hired a pest control company to take care of it. We bought a fire bowl, as a bandaid for our great desire for a fire pit. That'll happen when we have more time and money.  Things like a new hose hider/holder/winder get us REALLY excited.

There's also a lot of work inside. My favorite room to outfit, and the first one we worked on, was the playroom. OH MY GOSH I love it.  It is so handy! The toys aren't in their room to distract from sleep, and they're not in the living room making us look messy.  When friends come over, all the kids go upstairs while the moms lounge in the living room and sip wine.  (Ok it's Dr. Pepper but the feeling is the same.)

The girls are sharing a room now and it's pretty great. They wake up in the morning and play together so I can sleep a bit longer, and when I put them down at night Ruby helps calm Jane down and they play until they fall asleep.

There's still a lot we have to do (like put things on walls, buy furniture, attempt to control the mountain of shiz in "the office", and organize my closet) but it feels like our house. And I'm in love with it.
