Segment Three: Our New Apartment

We took all these pictures on Memorial Day, where we pretty much started and finished the move-in process. It was really fun to figure out where everything should go in our new apartment. And it was pouring rain outside, so we didn't even feel like we were missing out on normal Memorial Day festivities.

My favorite part was, of course, unpacking my books and categorizing them.

I don't have a picture of the final product of our living room--this is us partway through the process.
We left all our engagement/bridal pictures in California, so for now our only picture on the wall is this caricature of us from Disneyland.
This is half of our big closet that I LOVE. I don't know where all our stuff would go without it!
The hardest part was our bedroom. It took longer than anything else and was just so overwhelming! It's finally all put together now.

I so love our teeny little kitchen.

I think my favorite part of the house is this corner with the toaster and the vintage cookie jar that Katy P. gave us.
Or this drawer with our dishtowels. I LOVE WILLIAMS-SONOMA!!!!
We had to wear our new aprons when we cooked that night. Aunt Diana MADE mine, and I love it!

We invited Celia over for our first ever dinner in our new house--of our marriage! We made macaroni and cheese and cupcakes. It was so fun to use our new dishes, and the dinner even tasted good.

Living in a house with just Kyle is awesome. All the fridge space! And the FREEZER SPACE!!!!! It's amazing. It's just nice to have a little place all to ourselves.

Segment Two: Post Honeymoon Activities

The night we got back from our honeymoon, we got to open all our wedding presents! It took a LONG time, and was so much fun. That's the only time in my life that I'll have that many presents to open. I was overwhelmed by people's generosity. We got so many awesome presents.

And TONS of gift cards!
Then we headed to Big Sur! On the way, we saw Cannon! We were very excited--we missed him.
Once Lucy and Christy and Danny got there, we pretty much just showered Lucy with affection. I had to take the chance while I had it--and now I miss her so much!

We had a LOT of fun playing in the tiny tent that Kyle and I used.

Dad's idea of a good trip:
Kyle taught us girls how to play poker.
Christy was very excited to win. Just imagine the sound she made as she raised the roof. This is my favorite picture from the whole trip!

Segment One: The Honeymoon

Our first hotel was SO COOL. It's called the Hotel Zico, and it was a self-proclaimed Mediterranean Boutique hotel. Whatever that means, we liked it. The best part--the sink:

Neat, huh! Everything was just very cool and unique. I like Mediterranean Boutique.

Then we drove to Monterey. We stayed two nights in this cute little cottage. It was one big bedroom, with a little corner that had a microwave and fridge in it (SO handy!), and a bathroom. We loved it!

We played on the wharf, went paddle-boating, hung out in Carmel, and froze to death in the wind that kept us from kayaking and whale watching. The loss of those activities saved us lots of money, so we weren't too heartbroken about it.

These flowers grow like grass on the coast of Monterey. Kyle really liked it.

We made friends with this seagull, who we're pretty sure is Katy's spirit guide. This is him eating a fish he just caught from the ocean. I wish we'd gotten a picture of our other friend, the X-treme Rock Climbing Squirrel.
Then we stayed at the Martine Inn, an adorable and fancy B&B. It was so awesome and elegant. Everything was served on Victorian silver, and we played pool on an antique pool table. Very cool.
We stayed in the Pineapple Room, obviously.
Our favorite feature might have been the grassy parking lot.
Or the clawfoot tub.

Best bagel I've ever had.

And thus ends Segment One. Next will be the Post Honeymoon Acitivities (opening presents and Big Sur camping trip), and finally, my favorite, Our New Apartment.
