Please don't snow.

Well, today was the last day of summer. It was a good day--not very summery though. I watched Little Dorrit and finished Lucy's Minnie Mouse quilt. Tomorrow it's supposed to be windy, rainy, possibly snowy, and will only get up to 54 degrees. The ten-day forecast is pretty similar. This transition is TOO FAST.

BUT--tomorrow is good for other reasons. Number one: Christy and Danny and Lucy are coming! I could not be more excited. I have kept myself extremely germ-free so that I can be around Danny and everyone. The OCD hand sanitizing is completely worth it--especially because I'm addicted to my Coconut Lime Verbena scented hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works. I can't wait to give Lucy presents! I went to Target the other day and loaded up on 75% off High School Musical stuff. Ridiculously cheap! I showed Lucy some of the stuff I bought her when we were video chatting yesterday. She is so excited! She loves Troy stuff. Thursday is Lindsay's big Utah CD release party/concert, so that will be really cool.

Tomorrow is also good because we are 90% sure that our condo will finally be ours in the late afternoon! We can't really start moving in much until the weekend (too bad it's coinciding with General Conference), but it will be so good to just have the keys in our hands and be able to go there whenever we want. We're debating between sleeping in our bed at CB's house, or camping in our condo.

I'm okay with fall starting. I really do love this time of year. Soon it will be October! My favorite month! I'll turn 24 (whoa), organize my new home, throw a baby shower, and celebrate Halloween. In November I'll visit home for a week, go to the So You Think You Can Dance show with Christy, and cook my first Thanksgiving dinner. In December I'll drive to Amarillo, eat at Rosa's, and meet my niece Naomi! I'll stop there because January through March is always pretty bleak.

An effort, at least

I want to be back in blogging mode. I do. But my life just isn't inspiring any good posts lately. I feel totally in limbo, waiting for our sale to close so we can move into our new place. I want to move so badly! I want to have access to all of my things. I want to decide what pots and dishes should go where. Setting up a kitchen is my FAVORITE. I want to put our barstools together. I want to move around furniture. I want to sit and gaze at my beautiful new appliances. I don't want to wait anymore!

In the meantime, I'm still like happy and productive and whatnot. I saw "9" with Katy today. I don't recommend it. It had potential but totally dissolved in the end. The last movie we saw together was "Knowing" so you know, we don't have the greatest track record. I'm making a little quilt for Lucy. Well, "quilt" I should say. It's not like great or anything. Joanns had some cheapo Minnie Mouse fabric, one thing sort of led to another. It's my first solo quilting venture--I'm excited about it. The only thing I don't like is IRONING.

I also get to hang out with Celia and Eliza. Eliza is done with her light therapy thing (she was a bit jaundice-y) and it's great to see her with non-yellow skin! I didn't know she had jaundice, I thought maybe all babies looked like that. She's adorable though. We're making some baby shower plans! I started planning on Celia's wedding day, forgot about it for a while, and now we're up and running again. I can't wait for Eliza to actually fit the newborn clothes I got her. She still barely fits preemie stuff!

Other than that, I am on a baking kick (nothing fancy, just cakes/brownies/cookies), a tv kick (online only, unfortunately), and a Kyle kick. I mean, I just can't help but like him. That kick is kind of constant.

Pictures of the new home!

So, our home buying process hasn't closed yet, but they gave us a tentative closing date--September 28th. I'm not THRILLED with that date because I want to move NOW, but, it's okay. It's not too long from now.

Last night Kyle and I went to the place and measured everything and were able to more seriously plan what we need and where things should go. And I took some pictures!

We have a small living room and 2 small bedrooms. But to me, the huge master bed/bath/closet and pretty kitchen make up for it. Both bathrooms are big, and we have a large storage closet out on our balcony plus a bit of storage in the laundry room. Coming from our old apartment, this is HEAVEN. And I'm a sucker for stainless steel appliances! When I'm not hanging out with Baby Eliza or watching Charles in Charge, I am fantasizing about moving in to our new home.

12:41 AM, 6 lbs 1 oz, 18 inches long.

Since Celia refuses to blog I guess I have to. Her labor and deliver was AWESOME. Seriously. The nurse and doctor said to NOT expect it to be so easy when it's my turn. She pushed for all of TEN MINUTES and her body already looks/practically feels like it never had a baby in it. Amazing. I won't go into graphic details because Kyle is grossed out enough already. But man. It made me really excited about birth and babies and whatnot. I loved being in there with her the whole time. I learned a lot and it was such a crazy spiritual exciting experience. The actual delivery of the baby was just so serene. NOTHING like what I expected. Her baby is BEAUTIFUL and is doing great. She may even get to go home tomorrow, even though she was born at 36 weeks! For now we're calling her Eliza Eden, but that is subject to change. Maybe. Celia and Nathan are tired but doing great. My camera cord is PACKED and totally unreachable until I move, unfortunately. There are great pictures on Nathan's camera--hopefully those will reach the interweb soon.

OH! And Caitlin was having crazy contractions the whole time, getting worse and worse as time passed. Turns out she totally went into labor while Celia was having a baby--I think little Atticus just needed some inspiration from Eliza. So their babies have the same birthday! It's so funny and awesome. Celia and Caitlin have been friends since they were babies so it's just perfect.

Hey, the hospital has wi-fi! I've been here with Celia and Nathan about 3 hours and we're having a good time. Well, kind of. Celia is hurting, of course. But we're watching the BYU game (so exciting!) and hanging out. Kyle periodically brings us snacks and activities. Anyways, the baby is going to be born tonight/this morning! Celia is doing great and being super strong. She'll get the epidural whenever she wants it and we LOVE her nurse. It's hard to believe that the baby will actually be here soon! I can hardly wait.

Suzanne Collins rocks my world

Wow.

I'm a little over halfway through Catching Fire, which came out yesterday. I am out of my mind with love for it. I have been trying SO HARD to not devour it all in one sitting--I'm pacing myself. I'm blogging to keep me from reading it. I had to tear myself away just now. I've already cried several times just because I don't know what to do with so much emotion! IT IS SO GOOD.

In other news, we officially got the condo! We'll probably be able to move in in about 3 weeks. This happened way quicker than we expected--we were planning on September being the month where we searched for house. Now it's September 2nd and we already have one!

Anyways. I have to go read this book now. I can't bear it.
