And it's been a while

Catching up SUCKS. So I will give a brief account of past events:

Finals--Over. Done. Never thinking about them again--until next semester.

Graduation--My family and I screamed ourselves hoarse for Kyle. We planned the most effective yelling techniques and critiqued other cheerers around us in preparation. When they finally got to Kyle, we deafened those around us and received compiments on both our loudness and our style. I'm so happy Kyle graduated, and you can imagine how he feels (ie ecstatic).

Vaughn/Anderson meeting--Although I was nervous, the meeting went extremely well! We ate several meals together, and Barbara came to my bridal shower, and we all hung out at the condo for a bit. Everyone gets along and likes each other, and I didn't feel awkward. Score.

My bridal shower part 2--Aunt Diana should hire herself out to throw amazing parties. It was SO nice--the food was amazing, there were cute pictures of Kyle and me everywhere, and a ton of people came! I scored some sweet presents, but it was really mostly fun just to catch up with my Utah relatives and friends.

Bridals--I'm not gonna lie--I looked dang good. We went to Thanksgiving Point, and it was really crowded because it's the Tulip Festival. I had an audience everytime I posed. Strangers took pictures of me. The best part was the mass of children around me. Everytime I passed a kid, they said to their mom "Look, it's Cinderella!" or "Ohhhh mom it's a princess!" Usually I don't like being the center of attention--nor do I glorify myself (especially my looks!)--but it was really fun to feel so pretty.

DISNEYLAND--Whoa what a trip! 9 hours in an unairconditioned car through the desert, which was actually really fun. Jared amused us with yelling things out the window, and Amanda is the BEST DRIVER. Seriously, have you driven through LA? It's insanity, and Amanda handled it beautifully. We stayed in a gorgeous mansion that I'm sure everyone else will blog about (Amanda has pictures) and had a great night. Disneyland was amazing, of course. Indiana Jones is still my ultimate happy place! It was especially fun to see everything through Kyle's eyes--he hadn't been there since he was a teeny kid, and so it was like his first time. Exciting. We also won the Disneyland Dreams Come True Event Giveaway--which meant a Disneyland after-hours dance party, and then one extra hour in the park with pretty much no lines. Do dreams come true? OBVIOUSLY!!!! Amanda and Jared have some GREAT pictures of that day. Then we spent the night with Uncle David and Aunt Michelle, which was extremely kind of them because they only live like 20 minutes away and we were exhausted. We slept so well that night.

Saying goodbye to Kyle--Sucks. Is awful. Never doing it again. Been crying my eyes out. Unacceptable.

And now I'm home! It's restful here--for now. Soon the millions of jobs will come pouring in; I'm just enjoying a brief respite. In approximately 5 hours Christy and Lucy will be here! I can't WAIT to see them and shower Lucy with gifts because she is a big one-year-old now! THEN there's my bridal shower part 3 this evening. I'm really being forced to overcome my dislike of opening presents in front of people. All my life needs now is to...have Kyle with me.

Flight of the Conchords

You might think that this is really funny. I know that we do.

Live Bait

I just got a dollar raise at work.
I would recommend Penelope to people who like cute, wholesome movies and Mr. Tumnus.
I wish I could fake a convincing New Zealand accent so Icould be better at quoting Flight of the Conchords.

In several hours we're going to the Bishop's house to have an interview to get married.
In 5 days my finals are over.
In 6 days Lucy turns 1.
In 9 days Kyle graduates.
In 10 days we're going to California.
In 11 days we're going to Disneyland.
In 12 days I'm going home to Concord.
In one month we're getting married.

At work!

I'm sitting in my cute little cubicle at Independent Study. I really love it here. Mostly everyone is gone by 5:30, and the rest are gone by 6ish. So now it's 6:30 and I'm pretty much alone. It's funny how I'm still motivated to work even when there's no one to see me slacking. I'm only blogging right now because in the two weeks I've worked, I've never taken my paid break--so I at least get a blogging break, right? They just gave me a green IS polo shirt. Yes, I am excited.

Today Kyle and Katy and I went to pick out Kyle's tuxedo! Oh man you guys, he is going to look GOOD. He has such style. I had a sudden vision of what we're going to look like that day, and I am PSYCHED OUT OF MY MIND!!! I so love my dress. His tux totally works with my dress. Standing next to each other is going to be awesome.

Today was one of my only days to sleep in--and I was woken up early by two chainsaws right outside my window. I went into a rage.

Also, I am feeling VERY proud of myself for setting people up on successful blind dates. Two in a row last weekend--NICE. I have a one or two more in the works.

Disneyland=PLANNED. So everyone just chillax. All we have to do is survive til next Sunday.

Sorry this is boring and catch-uppy

All right guys. I am finally alive again! I have been so seriously deranged lately, due to, oh you know, EVERYTHING. Man alive, school has just been kicking my trash! BUT, it's over. I mean, I still have all my finals, but those are cake next to the projects I've been doing. And they're finally all done! I just finished the last thing that needed to be done, and I'll turn it in tomorrow. I'm exhausted. Kyle is currently sleeping next to me on the couch, the poor kid is all tuckered out.

Isn't life just great? Today was like 80 degrees in Provo. It was beautiful. Tomorrow's the last day of school. And I have a job! I've been working for like a week. And--here's the crazy part--I LOVE it! Seriously, I HATE being employed, and jobs have always been the worst part of life for me. But this job is fantastic. I work at BYU Independent Study, and I'm an English grader. It probably couldn't be more perfect for me. My coworkers are really great, my boss is super nice, and I get to just sit and read and grade portfolios for hours. It's so great.

This summer is just going to be amazing. I'll take lowkey online classes in the summer, and I'll work all the time at a wonderful job and make enough money to pay the rent. Oh and I'll be MARRIED, which is getting to be more and more real. Only 33 more days! I've barely been able to think about it, bceause there was so much awful stuff that had to happen before then. But now it's only finals, Disneyland, and then I'm in California doing final preparations!

Umm...I'm excited.

We Love The Bling

Ok, we changed our minds. THIS will be the picture that goes out with the invitations:

Nice huh? Shows you what we REALLY care about.

I'm in mourning...

...for Charlton Heston. Sometimes people could say something like that as if they're joking, but I'm most definitely not.
My sisters and I have loved Charlton since we were teeny little girls. We LOVED Ben Hur especially. Sometimes he does a thing with his forehead that makes him look exactly like my very handsome dad. We love him because of things like Planet of the Apes, The Ten Commandments, Soylent Green, Hamlet, etc. When I found out that he died yesterday...let's just say I was upset. I really don't like the idea of living in a world where Charlton Heston doesn't.
