It is so freezing outside.

Yesterday I finally went to the SHC and had a chat with Dr. Nielsen about my head. I got prescribed some crazy vitamins that can potentially help with my frequent migraines (it's getting to be pretty ridiculous--every other day I am out of commission! So, if I've neglected to call you back or something, that's why). Maybe these vitamins aren't THAT crazy, but Smith's didn't have them. Kyle and I had to trek to Good Earth natural foods store, where I felt OUT OF PLACE. I know Nieman really likes their granola and everything, but I couldn't stand to be in there. It smelled funky. BUT they have every kind of whacko vitamins that exist, so they fo sho had my tamer, more common ones.

Something funny: One little 100 mg pill of Vitamin B2 is 5880% of what your body needs every day. FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND EIGHTY. And guess how many of those pills I'll take every day? FOUR. That means I am consuming 23520% of what I need. Every single day. I swear, I'm going to start sprouting extra limbs and reading minds soon! Kyle and I worked it out--I could just eat over 900 bowls of Raisin Bran every day and get the same amount of riboflavin. I'm also taking HUGE magnesium pills, but apparently our bodies actually need magnesium so I'm just taking 200% what I need. No big deal.

Also, I finished the Dr. Laura book. And LOVED it. Love her. I think that most wives should read that book. She says some really important things I know it's going to help me be a better wife--the wife that Kyle deserves!

Also, we watched 27 Dresses last night (yay free rentals!), and had VERY low expectations--so we were pleasantly surprised to like it! Obviously, it's a stupid movie--but a good stupid movie. Katherine Heigl is one of my favorites.

SO, let's hope that this medicine works so that I don't have to move on to any expensive ones! Man...the prospect of fewer migraines is REALLY great. Doc Nielsen said that they probably wouldn't work for a couple weeks or so, but maybe there will be a miracle?

Marty and I also read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands and loved it. We read it together after we first got married. It really helped us understand eachother better! Glad you liked it. P.S. - I love Katherine Heigl too!

Hey, I shop at Good Earth. I can see why you'd feel out of place what with your hatred of vegetables and love of easy mac. We healthy eaters are kind of elitists. Also, I read one page of that Dr. Laura book. Hated it. Also, I dislike Dr. Laura simply on the principle that she said Eliot Spitzer had the right to use a prostitute if his wife wasn't satisfying his needs.

Glad we can differ on things and still be friends. I really like you.

You are obsessed with Bear Grylles. That means we should continue to be friends.

Also, Haley gets killer migraines at an alarming frequency, too. Let me know if that vitamin overload helps.

Also, i love Dr. Laura and listen to talk radio all the time even though stevenson can't stand her! I just remind him that she's helping me to be a better wife :)

good luck with the headaches - how miserable. I love your commentary on everything - makes my day. If you do grow extra limbs, fingers crossed that it's an arm. I've always though if I had a third arm, I'd actually be able to blow dry my hair the way my hairdresser does--

"What do husbands want? Lots of sex and no nagging." I read that quote to my husband and he was like, "Yep, that's pretty accurate." :)

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh, and I just read Caitlin's comment... OF COURSE she hated that book... the one page she read. :)

Hopefully most of the vitamins you are taking are water soluble and not fat soluble. If you exceed what your body needs the water soluble ones just get flushed away where the fat soluble ones get stored in well ...fat! They can also be stored in toxic amounts because they stay around longer.

My sister had problems with migraines so intense that half of her face would go numb (almost like a stroke victim). Her neurologist after doing much testing prescribed one half of a baby aspirin every day and amazingly she's never had a problem since. I can't remember how long she had to do that but it was something like a year or less.

Anonymous, you just terrified me! But I looked them up, and I'm pretty sure these are water-soluble. PHEW!
