I can't believe I haven't blogged about our new calling yet. Well, "new" calling. It's been nearly a month since we got called and sustained.
I'm always extremely nervous when I'm about to get a calling, because I assume the worst--and a teaching position would be the worst. Kyle is an awesome Sunday School teacher but I would rather die. Relief Society teacher (I've done that before) is equally terrifying. So it was with great trepidation we met with our 2nd counselor...with amusing results. We are Cub Scout leaders! We're in charge of the Wolf Den, the little 8 year olds. We have a TON of little boys in our group. I know nothing about Scouts, and Kyle doesn't remember anything, but we're figuring it out.
We've only had one activity with our boys, because of Primary activities and the group Pack night. It was...challenging. I think we learned from it. Our next activity is tonight and we will definitely be making changes. It turns out that 8 year old boys are insane and wild. I guess this is a good learning experience?

Sam and I just barely got released this past Sunday from being Bear leaders. It was fun but definitely hectic and sometimes challenging. Boys that age have so much energy. Good luck! We enjoyed it.
We teach the 8 year old primary class. They....are...insane... Good luck...haha
When you told me about this I imagined, 10 max. I get the impression there are more. I will pray for you.I would never be a good scout leader so I admire you dearly.
Marty and I teach the 8 year old primary class! It's a lot of work, but I'm sure you guys will do great. I also just got a 2nd calling on Sunday... RS teacher. I burst into sobs when I got the calling. I'm so freaked out.
I sure am learning. I won't say what I'm learning, but I'm learning.
Oh wow-- good luck with these boys!
