The Can of Orange Soda

One year ago, I had a boyfriend who wasn't Kyle. Kyle had recently become single and had a crush on me.

At this time, I casually gave Kyle a soda, while outside in the T of Park Place. It was a can of Sunkist. Instead of drinking it, he took it to his apartment and painted it sparkly blue. One of his roommates asked him "When are you going to drink that?", to which he replied "On our wedding day". Obviously he was joking--but the can of soda kind of became a big deal. I remember when he told me about it once we were dating, and I LOVED that it had become a symbol of us. Our names are both etched into the blue sparkly paint.

So, now we totally have to drink it on our wedding day. But when? Outside the temple? At the reception? During the ceremony? (Just kidding.) But seriously, I would like comments, ideas, etc. This is a very big deal, and it needs serious consideration.

That is the cutest thing I have ever heard.

I think you should make a show of it at your reception, like the cake cutting. Maybe WITH the cake cutting. You or Kyle can explain the significance and pour it into fancy champagne flutes and do that crazy arm twisty drink thing. And everyone will applaud and be like, "aw, they are precious." Because you are.

I had forgotten about that! I like the champagne glass idea. That would be fun! Or you could spray it all over each other, but I don't think the dry cleaning bills would be as much fun :)

That is so cute! I vaguely remember that story-but didn't know he said "at our wedding!!". I like Kayla's idea-it is perfect because you'll get some good pictures of the event too. So adorable.

I agree with Kayla. At the reception, after you cut the cake, in champagne flutes.

I just love you both. It makes me happy that he was madly in love, and that you wised up enough to date him :)

I was thinking maybe you should open it outside the temple when you're taking pictures. Pro:you'd get some really awesome pictures probably, Con:less chance to explain to everyone attending what you were doing.

I think we should have a meeting of the minds...

1) Do at the temple. It's classy and chic. How many people get to have wedding pictures taken while drinking Sunkist? Just do it.

2) Explain at the reception...save the can...that way you will be building up the mystique. At the temple, everyone will be thinking: "Why are they drinking Sunkist?" And then, in good dramatic fashion, you can help relieve the theatrical tension built up by the unexplained spectacle...

By the way, you guys rock.

I remember that day. It was after the smashing of the guitar. I also remember fun things that Kyle used to say when he would talk to you on the phone during the summer. They are all really tender and too sweet to display all over the world.
