We need to choose the picture that will go out with invitations. I have so many favorites--none of which are invitation-appropriate. So, these are our best options, and they're all cute, so how do you choose? You guys should help me.
My immediate reaction was #2 but only because that one needs the least editing. You could almost send it out with no edits (but I wouldn't). Is your photog going to tweak it after you choose?
I'm gonna go ahead and agree with what Alan has said (aka, #1 is the best), but with the comment that #4 is an alarmingly close runner up. I mean come one, what's NOT romantic about getting mugged?
Okay-so I LOVE them all-you chose my favs. This is Danny's order of favorites: #1, #2, #4, #3. I love #2 and would just edit a bit of hair and neck lines... and #1 is really growing on me. Ah! but #4 is so cute!! I think I agree that #3 is super cute but the tree just isn't as cute as your other backgrounds. Okay I have found inner peace-whatever you choose will be beautiful.
For some reason that email showed up in my inbox as coming as a comment from your blog. So that last comment was my response to your email. I'm technologically retarded today.
Ok, that's funny, because I thought your email was another comment, so I responded in comment form, and then realized it was an email, proceeded to erase my comment and make it an email, and then saw that you responded--to the comment. We're awesome.
Dad's #1 pick is 1, then 4. I love 4, but I would want tight cropping to deal with some of the graffitti which is not ok with me on account of the mugging possibilities! #1 is my fav, with 2 next--editing out the flying hair. I like the back lighting. What does Kayla think needs editing in #1 or 4? I guess you can call me if we want straight talk and not blog talk!
Karen, I just sent Becca a novel of an email (anyone else notice how much I talk?? I am VERBOSE) about the post processing I think should be done. They're pretty much standard tweaks for digital photography. I was explaining to Becca that digital cameras put a kind of a gray film over photos. It dampens colors and lighting and makes the photo appear just kind of flat and blah.
G and G vote for #1--they say it looks most natural and happy. they like the look in both your eyes. :) They liked #4 but were put off by grafitti. They liked all 4 really, but thought #2 looked posed and #3 had awkward arm angle(if you wanted to get really picky!)
If I have to pick, I would say #2 with some hair editing and maybe cropping. I think you guys could have looked a little more lovey though...I'm just not feelin' it...
Oh, so tough because they are all fabulous! Is that graffiti on number 4? I couldn't really tell. Can't wait to see what you choose when the invitation comes in the mail. (We are invited, aren't we????)
I love the second and third ones. I mean, you guys look great no matter what, so it came down to background things. I like backlighting, so that's why I like #2; but I like #3 because I have a thing for trees, especially ones that you wouldn't think of as incredibly beautiful at first. Plus my eyes saw the angles of your arms with the angles of the branches and yourselves in the middle and then something happy lit up in the back of my brain. And then I looked at it again and decided it looks like the tree is holding hands behind you, and that made me smile. So I like it quite a bit. Not saying it's necessarily the best engagement photo, but then I'm not quite sure what a great engagement photo really entails. #2 is probably the best for actually sending out to people. It's warm and fuzzy and love-filled.
Looking at the couple and not the background (those cna be fixed or cropped out). I like in order #4, #2, #3 and lastly #1.
Having said that... and judging from personal experience I would suggest the following.
Everyone will give you a different answer and different reasons to pick one over the other. My advice it to pick the photo you and Kyle like the best and forget everyone else. You will never be able to please everyone so please your self at least.
#2 is the best. In all of the others Kyle's arm is all stiff and unnatural. I suppose the arm could be airbrushed out but then ...everyone would think you are marrying a guy with one arm. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
I already told you which one I like, but I still need to do it in comment form. They're all pretty good with the exception of the weirdo standing next to you. My pick is number 1 because my arm is randomly up on something. Those are always my favorite.
I looked over them all again, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way your guys' fingers are touching just a little bit in the third one. That really sealed the deal for which one I liked the best. It's sweet. Not too like, yay we're getting married, we love each other blah blah blah, but just touching a little. And I also love trees. (Yes I'm commenting twice. But that's because I really like that one. Not that my opinion matters a whole bunch to you, but it SHOULD! haha)
I'm gonna have to say, as your visiting teacher and obviously the leading expert on engagement photos (seeing as how I've been engaged sooo many times) that #3 is the best. Seriously, it's super original, I love the tree and the symmetry and basically it just rocks hard core. Aside from that, I'd say the order is #1, #2, #4.
Don't listen to Lillian. #3 is not symmetrical, because Kyle is on one side and you are on the other. Symmetry would demand that one be on TOP of the other. And don't listen to Christy. Your next post should be here and in comment form. And don't listen to Council Bluffs. He's obviously a werewolf.

The first one. Best. You look like you're going to enjoy being married. "As soon as they take the picture we're gonna start makin' out."
Second one - "hmm, is this how people stand when they get married? So, um, here we go."
Third one - good, but the tree is kinda gnarly in the top right corner. Kyle's arm is still a little awful.
Fourth one - "As soon as they take the picture we're gonna start gettin' mugged."
My immediate reaction was #2 but only because that one needs the least editing. You could almost send it out with no edits (but I wouldn't). Is your photog going to tweak it after you choose?
Oh, that's right. Edit out the "copyright" thing. It's just tacky.

Phew. I was totally sweating.

It's because we're using gmail! It gets so confusing sometimes with those cascading replies.

Which is why we have my beloved Photoshop!
I vote for the one between the two trees.

My favorites are #1 & #2, you guys look great in both of them!
I like the third one or the first one best. But seriously. All of your pictures were so great!

Definitely the first because you're not all lovey-dovey.
Ok, plane tickets to your home are half the price of plane tickets to mine. Not fair for me usually, but good if I'm going to your wedding.
Oh, and I like numero uno
#2 is the best. In all of the others Kyle's arm is all stiff and unnatural. I suppose the arm could be airbrushed out but then ...everyone would think you are marrying a guy with one arm. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
if only that were true. long story. tell you later.

30!!!!!
Kyle is so funny. I just saw that you had 30 comments ad thought I'd make it 31. A milestone!
Yeah, I'm just commenting it to do my part to get it to the most ever! Aren't you glad you're still the hub?
Now that you have 33 comments I expect another entry. Pronto.
I'm gonna have to say, as your visiting teacher and obviously the leading expert on engagement photos (seeing as how I've been engaged sooo many times) that #3 is the best. Alan, you are obviously a werewolf.
I NEVER commented!?!? I like four. And three...but four better.
