It's the Weekend!

And I'm happy about it. It's been a long week--9 hour days catching plagiarizers, getting really depressed about the state of America's youth, and feeling righteously indignant when kids are punks about books/parents/school/teachers/learning/morality (for me), or the same amount of time stuck at a desk with a phone and no one to call, all the while bemoaning your fate as a bill-collector who's real calling in life is to cure diseases (for Kyle). Hard days!

I haven't been feeding Kyle the way a good wife should. This week we've had bagel bites, taquitos, quesadillas, and wow I can't even remember what else. We did make our first meat sauce though--which was a success, considering our limited supplies. I can't wait to have a stocked pantry. Or any pantry at all, come to that.

And now, it's Friday! Unfortunately, Kyle works until NINE tonight. Pretty late for a family man, but it's required. Fortunately, Celia is going to pick me up from work for our date.

This weekend:
--Go to Ikea (again) and finally buy that sweet fabric
--Sew said fabric into curtains
--Finish re-upholstering the boring chairs from Ikea we just bought
--Spend the rest of our Bed Bath & Beyond money (!)
--FINALLY see Indiana Jones (!!!)
--Finish putting away the mass of clothing that I didn't know I have
--Potential art projects/home decor that I need to discuss with Kyle before I can blog it

By the way, all the interesting/impressive jobs are things that Kyle's in charge of. He makes sewing very manly. I can't sew (or cook, as we've discovered). So far, I'm failing as a wife. But it's been less than 3 weeks--cut me some slack.

We just got back from seeing Indiana Jones (Wes's first movie!). It was so fun and made me so happy because, seriously, Harrison Ford? He's still got it, baby.

Your use of (!) appropriately demonstrates that seeing Indiana Jones is three times as exciting as the already exciting trip to Bed Bath and Beyond.

Enjoy Indiana. Random tidbit: in #3 when Harrison and Sean were filming the scene in the balloon and Indiana is telling his Dad how they never talk-it was so hot that both actors ripped off their pants and did the scene in boxers. Random, but I thought I'd share.

Hey Becca! I was wondering if you could email me your address so that I can mail you a baby announcement when little Sweet Pea gets here. My email address is princesslisa83@yahoo.com

I love that Kyle is going to do the sewing. And maybe potentially the cooking. If you need some recipes, you can borrow my Soy Soy Soy cookbook :)

And you ROCK as a wife (noting Kyle's many many exclamation marks).

Hey Becca, I am sure that you make a great wife! Eventhough you can't sew; the LDS motherly staple.
Thanks for listening and you rock!

It is not a requirement of a good wife to cook and sew. :)
